How Powerful is SPARQL???

I have a question concerning SPARQL. Is it possible to do set operations, which I can do in SeRQL, in SPARQL? Such as UNION, INTERSECTION, MINUS ?

I give an SeRQL-Example:

SELECT cp
FROM {cp} rdf:type {ns5:Competency};
ns5:isCompetencyOf {ns5:JobCompetencyProfile_04}

INTERSECT

SELECT cp
FROM {cp} rdf:type {ns5:Competency};
ns5:isCompetencyOf {ns5:DummyProfile_01}

Is it possible the do this query in SPARQL?
Is there also an Existential Quantor?

Regards,
Fergie

Re: How Powerful is SPARQL???

Currently, SPARQL can't do this. The only set operation that is supported by SPARQL is a (slightly different form of) UNION.

Re: How Powerful is SPARQL???

Is there a work-around for implementing an INTERSECTION-like SPARQL query? Any simple examples with 2 graphs?
